Thailand’s People’s Solar Initiative Targets One Million Rooftop Installations

Thailand launched its People’s Solar Initiative on 27 October, aiming to support rooftop solar installations for one million households through a government allocation of THB 50 billion. Eligible households can receive up to THB 50,000 towards equipment and installation, while surplus electricity can be sold back to the national grid under the programme. The government estimates annual electricity-bill savings of more than THB 24.5 billion.
